2010 Tartan Day Parade, Sixth Avenue, New York City » by NYC♥NYC
Tartan Day is a celebration of Scottish culture and heritage abroad that takes place on April 6. In the United States, Tartan Day is celebrated as a way of honouring the contributions of Scots and Scottish-Americans to American society. The largest Tartan Day celebrations in the U.S. take place in New York City, which hosts a Tartan Day parade. More recently, many regional councils in Scotland began to host their own Tartan Day events to develop its potential as a global celebration.
